Ummbies to take a road trip to The Lou for an exhibit in the fall of 2024
Five members of the distinguished Ummbie family have been selected to appear at the "Evidence of Joy" exhibit this fall at Intersect Arts Center in St. Louis, MO.
Wallace, Euna, Matilda, Symone and Scooter Ummbie will be displayed in the exhibit from July 15-Ot. 27, 2024. These five handmade cloth dolls will take with them their own personal stories about being an Ummbie. As a family, the Ummbies came into being in 2022 as a way for me to get past a creative block. Several of their relatives have been adopted by loving families in California, Idaho and Missouri.
The exhibit at Intersect Arts Center, 3636 Texas Ave. in St. Louis, will focus on "artwork made in joy, artwork made upon discovering evidence of joy, and work that is just pure joy to look at."
