"Wildfires" collage collection completed
"Wildfires," a collection of eight fiber collages, has been completed. Finally.
The pieces were inspired by media photographs of the Tick, Getty and Kincade wildfires that occurred in California in late 2019. As I followed the stories about the spread of the fires, it became clear to me that the rectangular frame of the photos did not contain the extent of the blaze and that the concept of wildfire might be a good subject to explore using fibers. The pieces are irregularly shaped and range in size from 14" x 12" to 27" x 20".
