Fourth Large-Scale Wall Hanging, "Business," Completed

Update: This piece was included in a fiber arts exhibition that opened at the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center on May 3, 2019. It has sold. The exhibition runs through July 27, 2019.

The fourth large-scale wall hanging is completed. "Business" is made of mostly silk neckties that have been partially deconstructed (There is one wool necktie in the mix....) This piece was a delight to weave because of the softness of the fabric and the predictability of the size of the ties in the warp. What wasn't predictable was the finished length of the piece. I anticipated that it would be about seven feet long. It's not; it's 52 inches wide by 60 inches long.

The texture/pattern reminds me a little of the magic eye puzzles of the 1990s.
