Artist Talk on Oct. 9 at Tubac Center of the Arts
For the past several months I have been collaborating with Tamara Scott Anderson, a fiber artist of long standing here in Tucson, AZ, on an installation project we are calling "Circle of Life: Nurse Logs." The weaving process has been somewhat different from the experiences I'm used to, and then there's the knotting that consumed many hours of my life. I've learned a lot.
The installation will be part of the "Viewpoints in Fiber" exhibit at Tubac Center of the Arts in Tubac, AZ, from Oct. 3-Nov. 9. Ten fiber artists will share their talents and creations with the public during this monthlong show, and the public is invited to view it. There is no admission fee. The opening reception is scheduled for Oct. 3 from 5-7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to meet the artists and learn more about the artwork on display.
Our Artist Talk will take place the following week on Oct. 9 from 5-7 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend to learn about how the project happened in the first place and how it evolved from a pile of deconstructed clothing and fabrics to a 10-foot tall forest in the span of a summer. The public is invited. The event is free.
